The Park is closed September 7, November 26, December 25, January 1 and May 30. The Park is open 10 am to 4 pm November 27 and from 9 am to 1 pm December 24 and December 31.

arrow School's Out - Youth Activities

The Park will offer a "Day at the Park" with a program of activities or occasionally a trip on some of the days the grade school children are off school for either the entire day or half a day. Our program will not cover the entire day or every day school is out. For SIP days at the school, the Park van will pick up children at the school and bring them to the Park. No other transportation will be provided. Children must be picked up on time or an additional late fee of $3.00 for every 15 minutes per child will be charged.

arrow Day at the Park

For each “Day at the Park,” activities could include an arts project, time in the game room, games and music. If the weather is good, the playground may be used. Lunchtime will be at the Park, and children should bring a sack lunch and a drink.
   
Registration For each date register no later than 1 week prior to the event date. If a minimum number are not registered the date will be cancelled.

arrow Junior Day at the Park

For each "Junior Day at the Park," we are looking for 3 to 5 year olds to join us for a morning of fun. We will serve cheese pizza and a drink for lunch. Activities could include an arts project, toys, play doh, puzzles, story time, and games. If the weather is good, the playground may be used.

arrow North Pole Adventure Train Ride

All Aboard! The North Pole Adventure Train rides again this year! Come along with us on an extremely popular event and listen to the story of a train ride adventure to the North Pole. You will enjoy sing-a-longs, games, chocolate milk, cookies, and a visit from Santa. Space is limited, and seats go fast so sign up early! There will be two train rides per day this year. Check in at the Des Plaines station on Miner Street between Pearson and Lee Streets. Mr. Conductor waits for no one! Note: No strollers are allowed on the train. There must be at least 1 parent per every 3 children.

This event is listed here only as a convenience to Rosemont residents. THIS IS NOT A ROSEMONT PROGRAM; THIS IS A DES PLAINES PARK PROGRAM. If you do not live in Rosemont, you must contact the Des Plaines Park (847-391-5700) to register. Rosemont cannot take your registration.

arrow Family Bingo Night

Bring the family to the Park for a Family Bingo Night! We will order a large pizza for each family registered; half will be cheese and half will be sausage. Pizza will be served family style, and we will order extra. We will have plenty for everyone and maybe some to take home. We will provide drinks for everyone. Small prizes will be awarded to the winner of each game.

Grab your gardening gloves and leave all the mess at the Park. You can plant flowers and vegetables in a cup, bring them home, and grow your own plants! You will also complete a small art project.

arrow Fall Festival

In September we hold our 11th Annual Fall Festival. Bring the entire family for a great afternoon of fun! Marc the D. J. will spin your favorite tunes and play some games! The events will include:

Kids’ Garage Sale – Children (under 18) sign up for table space and have your own garage sale of items you no longer want; games, movies, toys, sporting goods, etc. The profit is yours!

The Magic of Gary Kantor – Enjoy a 45-minute fun and spectacular magic show! After the show Gary will stay, walk around and amaze you with more magic and sleight of hand! The magic show begins at 1:15 pm so do not be late!!

Pumpkin Painting – Bring your own pumpkin and receive help painting it.

Face Painting, Baggo and Pumpkin Bocce Ball games

Everything is here for your enjoyment!

Please register ahead for Garage Sale. Come and enjoy an afternoon with your neighbors and friends!

arrow Turkey Shoot

Kids, team up with Mom, Dad, a grandparent, your older cousin or a special aunt or uncle and win a Thanksgiving Turkey with some sharp, eagle eye, basketball shooting. Each competitor tries 10 free throws, and the pair with the highest total in each age group will win! There will be prizes for all!

Santa and his helpers will personally read and answer all your children's letters if received no later than December 11. Letters may also be dropped off at the Lange Park desk; we have a special mailbox for Santa's letters. Santa's mailbox will be out November 23. arrow Easter Egg Hunt

Come join Peter Cottontail at the Rosemont School Gym for an afternoon of egg hunting. Please, all children must bring their own Easter basket or bag to carry the eggs they collect. The Egg hunt will be outdoors, weather permitting. Come early rather than late; we will start on time and everything moves very quickly. There will be lots of Easter eggs, prizes, and candy for all! We do not charge for this annual event. However, it is for Rosemont residents only. All the children will be able to pick some eggs first. Then we will turn everyone loose for the remaining eggs.

arrow Teen Easter Egg Hunt

Calling all Teens, bring your flashlight and a bag for an eggciting evening of egg hunting! Eggs will be hidden around the grounds of Margaret J. Lange Park, and it is your job to hunt them down in the dark with only a flashlight. Remember that you must be in the park building while the eggs are being hidden. Do not be late if you want to participate!

The Park will organize Saturday excursions to the MB Financial Park once each month from October through March to enjoy some of the attractions. We are not able to set the venue for each date at this time. The probable venue will be listed with each date. Contact the Park or check the web site 3 to 4 weeks prior to the event date for more definite information about the trip.

arrow Community CPR Class

The Park will offer a CPR/AED training class for the Rosemont community. You will be certified through the American Heart Association in adult, child and infant CPR and the use of an AED. This will not include first aid. This is a great opportunity for you to learn a skill that could save a life!
