Tumbling / Gymnastics Program - Kid's First

It is FUN!! Tumbling and Gymnastics are excellent ways to start your child on the way to balance and coordination. Each program in our tumbling and gymnastics series covers moves, from somersaults to flip-flops, and walkovers. Instructors will instill confidence and starting points that develop gymnastics skills lasting a lifetime. Each drill will focus on body formation and balance – plus it is great exercise! No experience necessary.

Kids First Multi-Sports After-School Program NEW

Experienced Kids First Coaches teach a couple of different sports each session giving kids a chance to experience them. General rules of the sport being played will be explained, including safety and fundamental demonstrations. Games will start once the Coach feels everyone understands the rules and can play in a safe fundamental way. Children should bring a water bottle, snack, daily.

Kids First Sports Blitz Saturdays NEW

A Saturday filled with a variety of sports for kids ages 5 to 14. Sports include: Baseball, Soccer, Basketball and Track & Field. Kids will all learn the fundamentals of each sport and work on the safety and skills needed to excel.

Baseball Fundamentals Program
Program teaches batting, fielding, pitching, base-running, and throwing, through proven baseball techniques. Body balance, and first step directional movements will aid in strengthening their play in the field and in the batter’s box.

Soccer Fundamentals Program

Coaches will combine body balance & speed drills with FUN preparation soccer drills, making this program ideal for beginners to advanced players. The class will also teach first step directional movements, ball handling, headers, goalie positioning, and sportsmanship; the program concludes with a championship soccer game.

Kids First Sports requires parents be at least 30 feet away from children during class to avoid distraction. Parents of the 3-4 year old children must stay in the building. Floor Hockey

Join us and learn the fundamentals of hockey plus enjoy the fun of playing the fast-paced game of floor hockey! At the beginning of each class the instructors will teach you different aspects of the game. Afterwards you will have an opportunity to practice what you have learned playing a game. Sticks, pucks, and helmets will be provided for you to use. Eye protection is available to purchase for $10. Other equipment such as shin guards and gloves are optional and you provide.

Yoga

This multi-level class includes levels one and two. Class is 45 minutes of stretching and postures, followed by 15 minutes of relaxation and meditation. Hatha Yoga is physical yoga, coordinating the breath, mind and muscular system. Students bring a mat or towel to work out on and a water bottle.

We will be in the casino from 12:00 pm to 3:00 pm. During that time you may have lunch if you desire. You are on your own for lunch. Are you unable to get to the store, bank, or post office? The Park offers a weekly shopping bus. The bus makes stops at the post office, US Bank, Jewel, Target and K-Mart instead of Target on the last week of the month. Please contact the Park for more information. Special Senior Shopping / Dinner Trip

In addition to the weekly shopping bus, the Park offers a special shopping and dinner trip on a Sunday several times each year. We will choose different malls and shopping centers around the area, and you choose a restaurant for dinner. Call the Park office at 847-823-6685 to register for each outing or for more information. These outings are for residents only. If we do not have a minimum of 8 people registered, the trip will be cancelled. The bus will leave from and return to the Senior Center parking lot. For this trip, you decide on the restaurant when you arrive and tell the driver. If you have a location you would like to recommend for a future trip, please call the Park.

Rosemont Residents | Leyden Township

Rosemont residents living in Leyden Township are in district for all classes, activities and programs Leyden Township offers. The Leyden Community Center is located in Franklin Park at 2620 N. Mannheim Road. The phone number is 847-451-5144 or visit the website at www.leydentownship.com. Leyden Township offers a full array of classes and activities for preschool and toddlers; gymnastics, crafts, drawing, dance, and soccer. They also have adult and senior activities and special events. Be sure you check into all that Leyden Township offers and take advantage of the in-district fees.

PARK REGULATIONS

• All Parks close at 10 pm unless otherwise posted.

• Dogs are not allowed in Park District parks or any facilities.

• Concealed Carry Ban Policies covers all Park District parks, facilities, and vehicles.

• Motorized vehicles are prohibited on park property and pathways.

• Handicapped parking is enforced.

• Alcohol consumption or possession is prohibited in all Park District parks and facilities.

• Skateboards and bicycles are not permitted on playgrounds.

FACILITY REGULATIONS

• Smoking and alcohol consumption are prohibited in any Park District building, with the exception of the Thompson Room during an approved rental, and liquor insurance has been purchased.

• Hats are prohibited inside facilities.

• Headphones must accompany radios.

• Shirts and shoes are required.

PHOTOGRAPHY/VIDEO POLICY

Photographs and videos are periodically taken of participants at Rosemont Park District facilities and programs. Participants grant permission to the Rosemont Park District to photograph and/or video tape them, their child and/or ward, and to use such photos and videos on its website or in other printed publications without further consideration. Your signature on the registration waiver form indicates your permission to use your photo for promotional purposes.

BEHAVIOR

Participants are expected to exhibit appropriate behavior at all times:

• Show respect to all participants and staff.

• Refrain from using foul or obscene language.

• Refrain from causing bodily harm to participants or staff.

• Show respect to equipment, supplies, and facilities.

• Refrain from disparaging remarks that include comments against an individual’s race, ethnic background, religion, physical appearance, or disabling condition.

DISCIPLINE

A positive approach will be used regarding discipline. The Park District reserves the right to dismiss a participant whose behavior is a safety concern. Each situation will be evaluated on its own merit. Appropriate action will be taken as soon as possible.
